For his new EP, Salvador Sobral deliberately chose a "back to basics" approach. "My last two studio works (...) were recordings with quite a few tracks and a lot of production work. After these two experiences, I felt a strong need to return to the ground of reality" , says the Portuguese. The four songs therefore contain music in its pure, raw form - Sobral, "as I sing and play the piano, as I do every day. The technical defects of the instrument, my fragility as an instrumentalist, my voice, which is here unprotected and therefore more exposed to failure, form the essence of this kind of musical mini-documentation of my everyday domestic life." This includes, for example, a barking dog or the sound of a passing streetcar.
